This Is How Argo’s Professionals Work

The Argo investigative agency is available 24 hours a day through its toll-free number 800 800 070. The first contact between the client and the agency is handled by one of our in-house staff members. If the client wishes to schedule an appointment, the date and time are arranged directly with the operator. If, instead, more detailed information about the case or Argo’s services is required, the call is forwarded to the head of the relevant division.

The Preliminary Interview

During the preliminary interview — which generally takes place at our offices in Rome — the client meets the head of the relevant division, with whom the investigative mandate is signed. The back-office operator then gathers the necessary information, completing an information sheet that summarizes the key details required for the proper execution of the service.

The client is then assigned a Junior Manager, responsible for keeping them informed and updated, and for communicating any requests or new needs to the investigative agency. The Argo team remains in constant contact with the client throughout every phase of the investigation, providing updates on the progress and partial results of the work — from start to finish. Transparency, after all, is a fundamental element of Argo Investigazioni’s identity.

Phase 1

The Investigative Project

At this stage, a team of experts — composed of the division manager, back-office staff, operations manager, and the agents selected for the case — meets to analyze the available information and develop an investigation plan. This is an essential phase that allows the team to optimize time and costs in order to reach the objective effectively and efficiently.

In Argo’s strategy, nothing is left to chance: the agents assigned to operational activities are selected based on specific criteria such as technical expertise, soft and hard skills, as well as personal qualities like empathy, adaptability, and persuasiveness.

Phase 2

The Operational Phase

The operational phase, supported by the “indoor” work of technical staff, begins with an on-site inspection during which the collected information is verified, and continues with both static and dynamic observation carried out by investigative agents. During this process, evidence is gathered in the form of audio, video, and photographic material, as well as the investigators’ testimony.

Each day, the heads of all divisions and back-office operators meet to review ongoing cases, develop investigation plans, monitor the progress of current operations, and define additional action strategies when necessary. At the end of each observation or surveillance session, the field agents send a daily report to the back office along with the corresponding photo and video material. These documents are reviewed daily by the head of the relevant division until the final investigative dossier is completed.

The dossier — with attached photo and video material — is the official document describing the evidence collected throughout the previous phases. The report and the accompanying audio, video, and photographic material form the investigative dossier, a document admissible in court as evidence, supported when necessary by the oral testimony of the investigators and licensed detectives involved.

The investigative agency — and specifically the private investigator who conducted the inquiry — may, in fact, be called to testify in court if required.

Phase 3

Privacy and Confidentiality Protection

Once the investigative dossier has been delivered to the client, Argo Investigazioni deletes all sensitive data collected during the course of the investigation. This is done in accordance with two key principles established by EU Regulation 679/2016 on the protection of personal data: the principles of data minimization and storage limitation.

To safeguard its clients’ information and ensure the utmost confidentiality, Argo Investigazioni is certified under the ISO 27001 standard by Certiquality (http://www.certiquality.it/products/ISO-27001/). The ISO/IEC 27001 standard (Information Security Management Systems) is an international benchmark that defines the requirements for implementing an information management system that is as secure and efficient as possible.

Furthermore, in compliance with EU Regulation 679/2016 on the protection of personal data, Argo Investigazioni has appointed a Data Protection Officer (DPO). This professional — also known in Italy as the “Responsabile della Protezione dei Dati” (RPD) — is responsible for monitoring, evaluating, and organizing the management and protection of personal data within the agency, ensuring full compliance with European and national regulations.
