Corporate Investigations: Security Management
The modern concept of security, which involves the Security Manager, covers a very broad range of objectives, from physical security of infrastructure, protection of the company’s production strategies, security of critical infrastructures, cybersecurity, workplace safety, information and communication network security, security of goods receipt, protected transport of products, privacy security, employee loyalty, and more. This field also importantly includes preliminary intelligence activities: analysis of the territory where the company is located, assessment of the competitive context, vulnerabilities, risk types in an integrated environmental protection approach, choice of security options, etc.
The goals of security and prevention are also identified in ensuring the safety of people and workers, not only in terms of physical harm but also moral harm; in the culture, study, and management aimed at implementing measures for the prevention and protection of confidential and/or secret information, such as protection and containment of danger. The trend toward managing security more carefully and requiring the presence of qualified and/or certified security professionals in more sensitive sectors and infrastructures has been steadily growing for years.
